MATCH DAY. Where's the ground? How do I get there?
The diagram above shows you the location of the McCain Sports and Social Club, in Osgodby Lane, Cayton.
BY CAR
If you're lucky enough to have SatNav in your vehicle, just type in YO11 3SB and that should get you there!
If you want to do it the more old-fashioned way, OK, just follow these instructions:
FROM THE DIRECTION OF YORK (A64)
Head towards Scarborough, through Ganton and Staxton, and after you've passed the turn-off for Seamer you'll approach a roundabout where Morrisons and the Scarborough Building Society are situated. Turn RIGHT at this roundabout, and at the end of this road turn LEFT. The road rises towards traffic lights where you turn RIGHT onto Cayton Low Road. Stay on this Road (past the McCain factory) and into the village of Cayton. Go past the Star Inn on your right, and after 100 yards turn LEFT at the Blacksmith's Arms. Go along this road for several hundred yards until you see the McCain Sports Field on your left (see picture below)

FROM THE NORTH (WHITBY) OR PICKERING
As you enter Scarborough, look for signs showing you the route to York (A64) and leave Scarborough along Seamer Road - past the old McCain Stadium on your right. (If you've ended up in the town centre, you can also reach us via the A165 to Filey and Bridlington - see next paragraph.)
You exit Scarborough past Dean's Garden Centre and come to a big roundabout where you take the FIRST exit signposted Eastfield. Follow this road (take care of two sharp bends) and at the next roundabout turn RIGHT, up the hill. This road ends in a strange roundabout (give way to traffic from both directions!) where you turn LEFT onto Cayton Low Road towards Cayton. Follow the remaining instructions from the paragraph above.

FROM SCARBOROUGH TOWN CENTRE
Follow the A165 across Valley Bridge and up through South Cliff, going past Scarborough College, University of Hull Scarborough Campus and South Cliff Golf Course. The road dips and climbs several times until you reach the summit at Osgodby, where you turn RIGHT signposted Eastfield and Cayton. Stay on this road and it twists through the houses, and ignore the sign towards Eastfield on your right. The road goes into countryside and drops down, where you will see the McCain Sports Field at the bottom of the hill.
FROM FILEY AND BRIDLINGTON
Head towards Scarborough until you come to a roundabout where there is a filling station and a pub called The Plough - turn LEFT here, signposted Cayton. As you enter Cayton, watch out for a pub called The Blacksmith's Arms on your right, and turn RIGHT immediately after it. The church and cemetery are on your right, but go straight ahead and you will come to the McCain Sports Field after a few hundred yards.

BY BUS
Get a bus from the town centre to Eastfield. A number 7 bus leaves every 15 minutes from the top of town (Westborough) at 04, 19, 34 and 49 minutes past each hour. If you manage to just miss one, you can either wait for the next one or you can get a number 17 bus three minutes later which also goes to Eastfield but via a different route. Whichever bus you take, you need to get off at Priory Place, Osgodby and walk down Osgodby Lane (the one which looks as if it heads downhill into open countryside) and you'll soon see the ground on your right. It's about 400 metres from the bus stop to the ground, so it shouldn't take you long.
If you want to visit a pub or two before the match, you can take the number 1 bus to Cayton (hourly service from York Place, 2 minutes past each hour) and visit the Star and/or the Blacksmiths in Cayton before walking up Osgodby Lane to the ground.

BY TAXI
OK if you're sharing, but a bit pricey if you're on your own. Could be as much as a tenner to get there, from the town centre.
We recommend Nippy Taxis, on 01723 377377 or 01723 370888.
