SCARBOROUGH TOWN FC IN THE COMMUNITY |
Scarborough Town Football Club is a club with its roots deep in the footballing community of Scarborough and surrounding area.
Scarborough Town FC was launched in 2008 as the "extension team" to the Academy system then based at George Pindar Community Sports College. The Academy ran teams in all age groups from children of 8 years old to young adults of 19 years old. Scarborough Town FC continued this process of training and educating the youngsters of Scarborough, and developing their footballing skills to whatever level they are capable. All players appearing for Scarborough Town FC are locally-based and have come through the Academy system or through the previous Scarborough FC set-up. We hope that the youngsters of Scarborough and district will continue to respond to the tenets of Academy coaching which encourages skilful football, teamwork, and a sporting attitude. We are proud that the Under-19 team won their league's Sportsmanship Award twice in three seasons. George Pindar Community Sports College ended its commitment to the Academy system in 2011.
Scarborough Town FC is proud to be part of the sporting community of the town of Scarborough. Its management committee includes members who have played football for local clubs and acted as officials for local clubs, and who have links with local schools and businesses.
