SCARBOROUGH TOWN FC IN THE COMMUNITY

Scarborough Town Football Club is a club with its roots deep in the footballing community of Scarborough and surrounding area.

Scarborough Town FC is the "extension team" to the Academy system based at George Pindar Community Sports College, with a certain amount of co-operation with Sheffield United FC.
The Academy runs teams in all age groups from children of 8 years old to young adults of 19 years old. Scarborough Town FC continues this process of training and educating the youngsters of Scarborough, and developing their footballing skills to whatever level they are capable of.

We hope that the youngsters of Scarborough and district will continue to respond to the Academy coaching which encourages skilful football, teamwork, and a sporting attitude. We are proud that the Under-19 team has won their league's Sportsmanship Award twice in the past three seasons.

The coaching team is under the direction of Mitch Cook, who is thus continuing the role he developed so successfully at Scarborough Football Club. George Pindar Community Sports College currently employs several former Scarborough FC players as coaches at the college: Denny Ingram, Tony Hackworth, Ged Dalton and Ryan Blott. The Football in the Community team of Steve Marsden and Mark Barber has also transferred from Scarborough Football Club to George Pindar Community Sports College, again under the direction of Mitch Cook, and provides coaching at various schools and youth clubs as well as providing holiday activity schemes for children of various ages.

Another aspect of Scarborough Football Club which moved to George Pindar Community Sports College was the excellent team of youth coaches including Bob MacDonald, Shaun Chapman, Keith Fletcher, John Nicholls and Richard Poor.

With the introduction of the Academy's extension team Scarborough Town FC, the progression of footballing talent goes from eight-year-olds to nineteen-year-olds ... and beyond.

Scarborough Town FC is proud to be part of the sporting community of the town of Scarborough. Its management committee includes members who have played football for local clubs and acted as officials for local clubs, and who have links with local schools and businesses.

Scarborough Town Football Club is a member of the George Pindar Community Partnership Ltd, a limited company which is the umbrella organisation for all clubs using the community facilities at Pindar Leisure Centre including Scarborough Pirates RLFC, Scarborough Ladies FC, Wykeham CC, Eastfield Juniors FC, Scarborough Seahawks basketball team, Cayton Corinthians FC, Sunset Aikido Club, Scarborough & District Badminton League.
