28 Jan 2012 - HESSLE SPORTING CLUB (South Hunsley School 3G in Melton). Drive via Staxton and Driffield following signs for HUMBER BRIDGE. At the final roundabout before the bridge (signposted left to Hessle, straight ahead to Humber Bridge, Lincoln, Airport) TURN RIGHT signposted Hull A63 and Leeds (M62). Get into right hand lane for next roundabout, where you go straight ahead (signposted Leeds) and STAY IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE (now signposted Leeds/Goole/NorthFerriby) until after the Hull road has forked off to the left. This road goes over the A63 Clive Sullivan Way before curving right to become a slip road, carry on and join the A63 signposted Leeds/Goole. Leave at the next sliproad, signposted North Ferriby B1231 and Melton Industrial Area, coming to a double roundabout where you TURN RIGHT to Melton and Willerby. At next roundabout, TURN LEFT signposted Welton and Melton. At traffic lights TURN RIGHT, keep going as you pass the main school entrance to your left, then TURN LEFT where signs say "School Bus Entrance". Go to the end of this road and turn left into the car park. Distance: 49 miles Time: 1 hour 10minutes
Sat 14 Jan 2012 - BRANDESBURTON Leave Scarborough on the A165 towards Filey and Bridlington, stay on the A165 following signs to Hull. At the end of a long layby on the right, you go past the "Brandesburton - a Neighbourhood Watch Village" sign and will soon approach a large roundabout (named "Brandesburton Roundabout"). Here the A165 continues straight ahead but you will need to turn LEFT signposted "Ind. Est. Catwick". Having made this left turn into Catwick Lane, the entrance to the football ground is only 50 yards on your RIGHT. Distance: 32 miles Time: 42 minutes
Sat 17 Dec 2011 - MALET LAMBERT YC Use the A165 coastal route via Bridlington - just follow the road and follow the signs for Hull. On entering Hull, go straight ahead at two roundabouts still following the A165 along Holderness Road (dual carriageway with a bus lane). Go past the Methodist church and Tesco Express on your left, and turn RIGHT at the traffic lights (signposted Ring Road / York / Beverley) at The Crooked Billet pub. Take the SECOND STREET ON THE LEFT (the wide entrance into James Reckitt Avenue), go past Clifford Ave and Birklands Drive on your right and continue along James Reckitt Avenue until you come to Malet Lambert School on your right. Distance: 46 miles Time: 1 hr 12 mins Sat 3 Dec 2011 - HESSLE UNITED Go up Staxton Hill and follow the B1249 to Driffield. At the Driffield ring road, turn right and follow A614 signposted M62 and Goole. At Kelleythorpe roundabout near Driffield rugby club, turn LEFT and at the next roundabout turn right onto the A164 signposted Humber Bridge. Go through Hutton Cranswick, Leconfield, etc, and you can even go through Beverley if you know the way - otherwise, follow the signposted route towards the Humber Bridge via the A1035 and A1079 before taking the slip road back round onto the A164. Keep following the signs until you can see the Humber Bridge, but at the final roundabout before the bridge turn LEFT onto the A1105 signposted Hessle. Go along the dual carriageway until you come to a roundabout (with a footbridge over it) where you turn RIGHT signposted B1232 Hessle Centre. After 200 yards, look for a gap in the houses to the right, which is the gated entrance to the King George VI Playing Fields. Distance: 46 miles Time: 1 hr 05 mins
Tues 8 Nov 2011 - PICKERING TOWN Leave Scarborough via Racecourse Road and East Ayton, follow A170 into Pickering. At the large roundabout in the centre of Pickering, turn left signposted Malton but take the first right and follow the road around to the left until you reach the football ground entrance. Distance: 17 miles Time: 30 minutes
Sat 5 Nov 2011 - DRIFFIELD EVENING INSTITUTE Go up Staxton Hill and along the B1249 towards Driffield. At the Driffield ring road roundabout (signposted Bridlington left, M62 right) GO STRAIGHT AHEAD TOWARDS DRIFFIELD ON B1249 ("Scarborough Road"). As you come to a fork in the road (left to Skipsea, right to town centre) take the LEFT-HAND FORK which is still Scarborough Road towards Skipsea. Continue along here and you will come to some traffic lights (left signposted Nafferton, right signposted town centre, ahead B1249 to Skipsea). Go STRAIGHT AHEAD but take the next raod on your left (Manrfield Road) which is also signposted "Sports Centre". At the end of MAnorfield Road is Driffield School Distance: 21 miles Time: 32 minutes
29 Oct 2011 - Humber Premier League - Withernsea Leave Scarborough on Filey Road, stay on the A165 heading for Hull until the far side of Bridlington. At Lissett you can take the B1242 signposted Skipsea/Hornsea and just follow this slow and winding road all the way to Withernsea. Or you can stay on the A165 past Brandesburton and at the next roundabout (Leven) turn left onto the B1244and go past Hornsea Mere to the roundabout in Hornsea where you join the B1242 to Withernsea. Watch out for all the 90-degree bends in the road! In Withernsea, the road ends right in front of the lighthouse where you turn right (signposted Hull/Halsham) but IMMEDIATELY turn left into the lane next to Hull Road Stores. 15 Oct 2011 - North Riding County Cup - Cargo Fleet Social Club Go along the A171 past Guisborough until the dual carriageway ends at a roundabout on the outskirts of Middlesbrough. Turn right signposted A171 "Middlesbrough, Teesport". Continue past the A174 crossing, go straight ahead at the Ormesby roundabout signposted "M'boro Centre A171". This is now Cargo Fleet Lane. Stay on this road until you pass Thorntree cemetery on your right and Cargo Fleet Social Club on your left, then turn LEFT into the wide entrance of Homerton Road. At the end of this road (watch out for the chicanes!) there is a roundabout at Morrisons where you turn RIGHT into Ormesby Road (signed "M'bro Centre and North Ormesby"). Pallister Park will soon be on your right.
3 Sept 2011 - Bransholme Athletic Go up Staxton Hill and follow the B1249 to Driffield. At the Driffield ring road, turn right and follow A614 signposted M62 and Goole. At Kelleythorpe roundabout near Driffield rugby club, take the 2nd exit, remaining on the A614 signposted M62 and Goole. At Bainton roundabout remain on the A614 by turning left, but having passed through Bainton take the LEFT FORK signposted Humber Bridge / Beverley / B1248. Follow this road until you have passed the crossroads for Leconfield and Cherry Burton, and you arrive at Dog Kennel Lane roundabout - turn RIGHT signposted M62 / York / Hull / Humber Bridge. At the Killingwoldgraves roundabout, take the SECOND EXIT signposted Hull A1079 and Humber Bridge. At the end of this fast stretch of road is a very large roundabout, where you get into the right hand lane and take the THIRD EXIT signposted Hull (Centre) A1079. Stay on this road through several set of lights, heading for the city centre (staying out of the Bus Lane) until the road narrows to a single carriageway. Go past a row of shops on your left and take the right hand lane as you approach the traffic lights at Sainsburys Local and The Haworth Arms and TURN RIGHT signposted Universities / Cottingham. Stay on this road until you reach a roundabout where you take the FIRST EXIT (Fairfax Avenue) past a row of shops on your right. At the traffic lights turn sharp right signposted Cottingham - this is Bricknell Avenue (dual carriageway). You will now see Kelvin Hall School on your left. Distance: 45 miles Time: 1hr 15mins
27 Aug 2011 - DRIFFIELD FC Go up Staxton Hill and along the B1249 towards Driffield. At the Driffield ring road roundabout (signposted Bridlington left, M62 right) GO STRAIGHT AHEAD TOWARDS DRIFFIELD ON B1249 ("Scarborough Road"). As you come towards a fork in the road (left to Skipsea, right to town centre) TURN IMMEDIATELY LEFT - JUST BEFORE THE ACTUAL FORK IN THE ROAD. This is Northfield Road and is signposted "Sports Ground" and "Northfield School". Stay on Northfield Road and it bends to the right, then take the second road on the left (confusingly, it's still called Northfield Road). Keep going, past the school, and the road becomes a single track lane. Soon you'll come to the playing fields, clubhouse and car park on your left. Distance: 21 miles Time: 32 minutes
23 Aug 2011 - SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC RESERVES Take the A165 road out of Scarborough towards Bridlington. Go straight ahead at various roundabouts including Lebberston and Gristhorpe until you come to the roundabout signposted Filey A1039 where you turn left. Follow the road towards Filey, around a few bends until you see Filey Sports Field on your left (opposite Filey Bird Garden & Animal Park). Distance: Not very far Time: Not very long
20 Aug 2011 - HOWDEN FC Go up Staxton Hill and follow the B1249 to Driffield. At the Driffield ring road, turn right and follow A614 signposted M62 and Goole. At Kelleythorpe roundabout near Driffield rugby club, take the 2nd exit remaining on the A614 signposted M62 and Goole. At Bainton roundabout remain on the A614 by turning left and follow the same road through Middleton-on-the-Wolds and Holme-on-Spalding-Moor where there is a left turn at a mini-roundabout. The A614 leads into Howden where there are signs warning of a Police Speed Check Area. At the first roundabout, go straight ahead remaining on the A614 which is also signposted M62 Goole / Selby / York. At next roundabout (after filling station, opposite Renault garage) turn right (3rd exit) signposted Town Centre. At T-junction turn left (Treeton Road) and follow road round. Car Park is on your right (narrow bridge over stream). Distance: 49 miles Time: 1hr 20 mins
Sat 6 August 2011 KNARESBOROUGH TOWN Go along the A64 to the outskirts of York, and at the Hopgrove roundabout (the one with all the traffic lights and traffic jams) turn RIGHT onto the Northern ring road. Stay on the ring road until you reach the roundabout for the A59 signposted Harrogate/Knaresborough and turn RIGHT. Stay on the A59, over the A1, and just before Knaresborough there is a roundabout where the Harrogate road goes straight on but you turn RIGHT staying on the A59 to Knaresborough. Just after the road bends to the right, look for Manse Lane on your left and turn into this road. Follow the road around to the right and the football ground entrance is on your right just before the petrol station. Distance: 59 miles Time: 1 hour 20 minutes. Sat 30 July 2011 - OLD MALTON ST MARY'S Follow the A64 through Staxton etc and keep on the A64 as it becomes the dual-carriageway Malton by-pass. Leave at the exit signposted Pickering/Malton/Eden Camp/Flamingoland, go up the sliproad to the roundabout and turn LEFT towards Malton. Keep on this road until just after the mini roundabout. Go past Malton & Norton Rugby Club on your left but take the next lane on your left to Old Malton Cricket Ground (opposite Rydale Council HQ) and drive along to the car park. Distance: 22 miles Time: 30 minutes Tues 26 July 2011 - PICKERING TOWN Leave Scarborough via Racecourse Road and East Ayton, follow A170 into Pickering. Sat 23 July 2011 - FISHBURN PARK Leave Scarborough via Newby, Burniston etc. Stay on the A171 over the Moors (ignore the Ruswarp turn-off) and enter Whitby from the Hawsker direction. As you reach the outskirts of Whitby there are some industrial units on your right and you'll see a lay-by on your left (just before Eskdale School). Go into this lay-by. From here, a narrow lane leads up the slope to a very small car-park but you may prefer to leave your car in the lay-by. Distance: 19 miles Time: 30 minutes
