1945 - 1968
February 2nd 1952 Hull City Reserves were beaten 5-2 in the Midland League with a crowd of 4,000 at the game. Boro's goals came from Jimmy Johnson (2), Ralph Pickard, Ron Hepworth (penalty) and Jack Gambles. It was the team's only win in 7 games played between the start of January and mid-March. February 3rd 1962 Johnny Powell's winner against South Bank booked a semi-final berth for Boro in the North Riding Senior Cup. The 1-0 win meant Eddie Brown's team would face Middlesbrough Reserves in the penultimate stage of the competition. February 4th 1956 In a match attended by 1,900 fans, Boro walloped Grantham 9-1. Jim French scored 4 goals and Charlie Ware hit a hat-trick in this one-sided affair. February 2nd 1985 Drawn away in the F.A. Trophy for the 13th time in 15 games, Boro lost 0-1 at Runcorn. February 3rd 1973 In what proved to be another rehearsal for the F.A. Trophy Final later in the season, Boro followed their draw 7 days earlier at Springfield Park with a 3-0 success against Wigan Athletic. Pleasing the majority of the 1,641 spectators were Gerry Donoghue, Jeff Barmby and Jimmy Shoulder (penalty). February 4th 1976 Two goals from Jeff Barmby and one from Tony Aveyard helped Boro see off the challenge of Goole Town 3-1 in an F.A. Trophy Round 2 replay watched by 2,916. Boro would now face Dagenham in the 3rd Round. February 5th 1983 In another good day in the Trophy, Boro won 3-1 at Stalybridge Celtic, with John Steeples scoring twice and Dick Dawson once. The 2nd Round match was marred by crowd trouble, for which Bower Fold was not generally known. February 6th 1982 Playing in only his second game since the end of November, Pat Olney scored the only goal in Boro's 1-0 win at St. Albans City in the 2nd Round of the F.A. Trophy. 1986 - 2007
February 2nd 2007 Boro won 1-0 at Harrogate Town to take the North Yorkshire Conference North bragging rights. The crucial goal was scored by Chris Thompson. February 3rd 2004 Many fans left the McCain Stadium disappointed that Boro had only managed a 3-3 draw with visitors Hereford United. The quality of Boro's performance was perhaps viewed in a different light before the end of the month, however, as Hereford won 9-0 at Dagenham & Redbridge on the 27th. February 4th 2005 The Boro website reported that copies of the Boro A-Z had sold so well that it was going to reprint in order to cover demand for this excellent review of Boro history. February 6th 1993 Kyle Lightbourne opened the scoring as Boro beat Hereford United 2-0 in front of a crowd of 1,487. It was the first time in 11 years any Boro player in any competition had scored in 5 games running, the feat having last been achieved by Colin Williams in 1982. February 7th 2006 The editor of the 'Boro Review', Derek Megginson reached another birthday, claiming to be 28 for the second time. All the best, Derek! February 8th 1997 With Gary Bennett returning after a 2-match absence, Boro achieved their best win of the season when goals from David Currie (3) and Michael McElhatton helped the Seadogs overrun 3rd Division visitors Darlington 4-1.

Two of the most significant seasons in Boro's history were 1986-87 (winning the championship of the GM Vauxhall Conference) and 1987-88 (the first season in the Football League). Find out more about these seasons by clicking the Seadogs Fans link below:
