Marcus Jones, player-coach, 34. Tall defender/midfielder who started out at Stoke City and made 61 Nationwide Conference appearances for Scarborough FC. Also played for Telford United, Cheltenham Town, Northwich Victoria and Yeovil Town.
George Rose, 22, is a graduate from the Scarborough FC youth scheme and is a hard-working midfielder who has already had experience with a number of local teams including three seasons at Pickering Town in the Northern Counties East League. A plumber by trade, he is the nephew of former Boro winger Nigel Rose. Club captain.
Dean Craig, 22, a useful player already experienced with local teams, having won a number of cups with Edgehill FC. Was with Leeds United as a schoolboy before progressing through the Scarborough FC youth system from the age of 14, in the same age group as George Rose, Ryan Merron and former Scarborough FC player Carl Cook.
Matthew Perry, 21, is a tall defender who graduated from the Scarborough FC youth system having been with the Centre of Excellence from the age of 11. Made one appearance for Scarborough FC in a North Riding Senior Cup fixture against Middlesbrough in March 2007 and was on the bench for a number of Conference North games in 2006-07. Now at University in Sheffield.
Ryan Merron, 22, a strong defender with good distribution skills. Came through the Scarborough FC youth system from the age of 12 and has played in local league football for a number of years.
Martin Barnes, 21, is a cultured full-back from Filey who graduated from the Scarborough FC youth system and Under-19 team, and was on the bench for a number of Conference North games in 2006-07. Made two first team appearances, in North Riding Senior Cup games against York City and Middlesbrough. Now at University in Leeds.
Mark Barber, 21, is a skilful and determined midfield player. Has had experience with Whitby Town, Bridlington Town and Pickering Town, also played for Scarborough FC in two North Riding Senior Cup games in 2006-07. Works as a football coach at George Pindar Community Sports College and manages the Under-13 Centre of Excellence team.
Jonathan Blackburn, 20, came up through the Boro youth teams but missed the whole of the 2006-07 season after suffering a serious injury in the first game of the season.
Joel Ramm, 20, full of skill and effort in midfield or in defence. Was with Scarborough FC Centre of Excellence from the age of 10, and was a member of York College Academy and Pickering Town Under-19s. Has been playing local football for the highly-successful Edgehill FC.
Robbie Hawkes, 19, is a skilful left-sided player who also has an eye for goal. With the Centre of Excellence from the age of 10, he made 15 appearances for the Under-19s last season, netting 7 goals. Has been playing local football for Burniston FC but has hopes of progressing to a higher level in the football pyramid.
Jamie Patterson, 19, is a strong midfield player. Moved to Scarborough as a schoolboy and was spotted by coach Mitch Cook playing for Yorkshire Coast College. Captain of the Scarborough Academy Under-19s last season, making 14 appearances and scoring several vital goals. Had also made 4 appearances for the Under-19s the previous season of 2006-07.
Callum Ward, 19, a Whitby lad who is a reliable defender who missed only one game in the Scarborough Academy Under-19 team in 2007-08, having also made several appearances the previous season. Was with the Scarborough FC Centre of Excellence from the age of 14.
Wayne Brooksby, 18, is a talented attacking midfielder who regularly contributes goals. Spotted as an 11-year-old by coach Mitch Cook, he was with the Scarborough FC Centre of Excellence until moving to the Hull City system. Re-joined Boro aged 16, and has been an ever-present in the Under-19s for the past two seasons, netting five goals for the team in 2007-08. At the age of sixteen, had made two appearances for Scarborough FC in North Riding Senior Cup games against York City and Middlesbrough.
Neil Thomas, 17, is a striker who has been watched by several teams. Was an ever-present in the Boro Under-19 side last season, scoring 11 goals. Also a regular goalscorer in local league football with Newlands and The Angel.
Robert Clark, 17, goalkeeper. Good sense of positioning and capable of making spectacular saves. Was with the Scarborough FC Centre of Excellence from the age of 11. Played in all 17 Scarborough matches in the Northern Under-19 Alliance last season, having made his debut in 2006-07.
Adrian Hammond, 17, is a versatile defender or midfielder. Has come through the Scarborough Academy system from the age of ten, and made 11 appearances for the Under-19 team last season. Will also be playing for the Scarborough Colleges Under-19 side this season.
Darren Clough, 17, is a speedy striker with great confidence in front of goal. Scored 14 goals in 14 appearances for Scarborough in the Northern Under-19 Alliance last season. Was with the Centre of Excellence from the age of ten, and has spent some time on trial at Sheffield United.
Sam Smart, 17, was with the Scarborough Centre of Excellence and made three appearances for Boro’s Under-19 side at the start of last season before sustaining an injury which caused him to miss the rest of the campaign. A strong and determined central defender who can play in other posiitons.
Gareth Owen, 16, is a versatile player who came to the Scarborough youth system from Bridlington. A quick and aggressive player, he was converted from a forward to a centre-back where he reads the game very well. Made six appearances for the Under-19 team last season, and will be a regular in the Under-19s this season whilst hoping to break through into the Town team.
Joe Danby, 16, plays wide on either flank and provides good service to the strikers. Was with the Centre of Excellence from the age of ten and has been a reliable player while progressing through all age-groups. An ever-present in the Under-19 team last season, he also scored two goals. A talented and versatile all-round sportsman.
Tom Hickin, 16, is a solid central defender who was with the Centre of Excellence from the age of eleven. Has been a regular in the teams throughout the age-groups. Made ten appearances for the Under-19s in 2007-08, and has already established himself in the Town team.
Josh Greening, 16, attacking midfielder. Has come through the Scarborough FC youth system.
Nathan Cook, 16, is a solid left-sided midfielder with good passing skills. Son of coach Mitch Cook, he has been with the Centre of Excellence from the age of ten. Made three appearances in the Northern Under-19 Alliance last season and will be a regular in the Under-19s this term whilst also hoping to break into the Town team.
Matty Brown, 16, is a talented midfielder from Whitby who has been with the Centre of Excellence from the age of 12 and made six appearances in the Boro Under-19 side last season. Very skilful, reads the game well, and will be a regular with the Under-19s this season.
